Conquer the Heights! Challenge yourself with a day hike to our Acatenango basecamp and marvel at the erupting Fuego Volcano.

Breakfast will be provided in our supply center before you start the hike up to basecamp. With a glass of wine and dinner at the campfire you will admire the sunset from basecamp. When the sun goes down, Fuego starts its magical light show with its famous orange glows of lava.
Seeing sunset from basecamp also means you will have to descend without the light and heat of the sun. Headlamps and warm clothes will be provided by us, but have to be brought up and down by you.
The optional Fuego hike and the hike to the summit of Acatenango are not possible during the 1 day hike.

Are you on a pretty tight time schedule and don't have time for an overnight hike? We got you covered! Leave early in the morning and head for basecamp, admire Fuego erupting while recovering from your climb and make your way back to Antigua later that same day.
Note: The Acatenango hike is tough, hiking up and down on the same will make it even more challenging.

7:40 - 8:00
Pick up. You will be picked up from your accommodation.
8:00 - 9:00
Transport to the volcano/supply center. The ride to the volcano takes around an hour.
9:00 - 10:30
Picking up gear. In our supply center you can borrow all the gear you need for the hike and will get a small briefing while you have breakfast.
10:30 - 15h30
Hike. The hike (including breaks) will take around 5 hours. Enjoy the constantly changing scenery of this magical National park.
15h30 - 19h00
Our guides will make you a nice meal and serve a glass of wine while you relax and enjoy the view on Fuego.
19h00 - 22:30
Descending. Time to make your way back down to the supply center to return your borrowed gear.
22:30 - 23:30
Return to Antigua. Transport will bring you back to your accommodation.
